Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage) are small pieces of data stored on your device when you visit our website. They help the site function correctly and, with your consent, help us understand how the site is used.

2. Your Consent

When you first visit our site, a consent banner lets you Accept all, Reject all, or open Settings to choose per category. Non-essential cookies are only set after you give consent. We use Google Consent Mode v2: by default all analytics and advertising storage is set to denied until you opt in.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

3.1 Necessary (always active)

Required for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They cover your session, security (CSRF protection) and remembering your cookie choice.

3.2 Analytics (consent required)

Help us understand how visitors use the site, in aggregate. We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly tool. These are loaded only after you consent to the Analytics category.

3.3 Marketing (consent required)

Used for advertising and remarketing through Google Ads. These are activated only after you consent to the Marketing category, signalled to Google via Consent Mode v2.

4. Managing & Withdrawing Consent

You are in control at all times:

  • Use the consent banner shown on your first visit.
  • Click “Cookie Settings” in the website footer to reopen the preferences panel and change or withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Adjust or clear cookies and local storage via your browser settings.

Withdrawing consent stops further analytics/marketing data collection. Necessary cookies remain, as the site cannot function without them.

5. Third Parties

With your consent we use Ahrefs Web Analytics (analytics) and Google Ads (marketing). Consent signals are managed through Google Consent Mode v2. Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms. If we add further tools, we will update this policy and request consent before setting any new non-essential cookies.
